Giles has degrees from Cambridge [MA Engineering and Philosophy], NCAE/Cranfield [MSc. Design], and INSEAD [MBA].
He worked worldwide as an engineer for Rolls Royce, Ford Motor, Shell, BP, UN [UNAIS,UNIDO,FAO], USAID and Deutsche Entwicklungsdienst.
As a consultant since 1982, he spent eight years with Braxton Associates, then Touche Ross; then founded Strategy Resource Parters, where he has concentrated on client firms’ costs, service and marketing, as levers for competitive success. Giles developed Reverse Costing as a tool to serve this, applying it to manufacturing industry, services, finance and defence.
He speaks English, French and Pigin, moderate German, basic Spanish. He is married, with four children.
He does not do government work.
